The calculation runs on your device; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

This is an estimate, not legal advice. The figure to rely on is the one on your payslip.

How the calculator works

  • The general contribution rate is 34.5%, of which 9% falls on the worker: 1.5% for social insurance, 6.75% for retirement, 0.5% for unemployment insurance and 0.25% for early retirement. The employer pays 25% on top.
  • The contribution base is every element of the wage, except family allowances, expense allowances such as transport and meals, and some exceptional payments.
  • The wage subject to contribution is never below the guaranteed national minimum wage (SNMG), DA 24,000 a month since 1 January 2026. There is no ceiling for an ordinary salaried worker.

A hypothetical example: a wage subject to contribution of DA 60,000 has DA 5,400 deducted for social security.

Social security is not all that is deducted

After social security, income tax (IRG) is taken from the wage net of contributions, on its own scale. This calculator covers social security alone, so do not treat its result as your final take-home pay.

Questions people ask

Do family allowances count in the contribution base?

No. CNAS excludes family allowances and expense allowances from the base, so leave them out of the calculator.

My wage is under the SNMG. What is the contribution worked on?

On the SNMG, because the wage subject to contribution can never be lower.

Does the rate change?

The rates are set by executive decree, most recently Decree 15-236 of 2015. If an amendment is issued, we will update the calculator.

To split what reaches you, use the 50/30/20 calculator. In Masareefy you enter your take-home pay as monthly income, and the app spreads it across the days of the month.
