Your spending in Morocco, and what the week still allows

Record what you spend in dirhams, in cash, by card or from a mobile wallet, without linking a bank account. Safe to spend shows what is left for each week of the month.

The month overview screen in the Masareefy app

From the Marjane receipt to the hanout

Marjane, BIM and Carrefour Market print a receipt with every item and the total. Photograph it and Masareefy turns it into lines you can correct before you tap Save; handwritten slips are read too. At the hanout, the corner shop, or at the souk, when there is no receipt, type the first letters of an item: things you bought before come up with the store and the last price you paid.

Receipt photos

Photograph a receipt: the store, the items and their amounts appear as lines you check.

Voice entry

Hold + and say what you bought. The add form opens filled in, and nothing is saved until you tap Save.

Quick typing

The first few letters bring up items you bought before, with the store and the last price.

Shopping list

Tick what you bought and the add form opens with those items. Fill in any missing price, then save.

Built around how Morocco pays

Cash is still the main way to pay in Morocco. People also use bank cards, mobile wallets such as inwi money and Orange Money, and instant transfers. Give each its own wallet in the app: cash, card, mobile wallet. Every balance is the figure you state, and no bank is ever linked.

When the salary arrives, set the month's budget yourself. Rent, the water and electricity bill, internet and school fees are reserved from the first day, and the rest is spread over the weeks. One other person can record in the same ledger and sees new entries within moments; you alone set the budget and income and choose what they see.

Masareefy is free, and Premium adds more

Log your spending, follow your budget and your bills with a reminder on the day, set goals and a shopping list, and export your data whenever you like, free and with no payment card.
